If you are playing Minecraft with friends then the use of a skin is very crucial, unless you want everybody to be playing as “steve”.
This is a tutorial/step-by-step guide on how you can change your skin on Minecraft Pocket Edition. The guide requires NO rooting of your device either. Lets get started.
Step 1: You’ll want to first go to the Google Play Store(Android) or App Store(iOS) and find and install the App – PocketTool
Step 2: Now that you have PocketTool installed, you need to find a skin that you want to use. For this example we will be using the Finn (Adventure Time) Minecraft Skin.
Open your web browser, and go to minecraftpocketeditionguide.com and navigate to the Skins section.
Click on Download This Skin
Step 3: After you’ve clicked “Download This Skin” and it has finished downloading, go ahead and close your browser and open PocketTool. When it opens click on Install Downloaded Content.
Make sure the skin tab is selected and click/tap and hold the skin you want to use. After a second or two you see a pop that will ask you “What would you like to do?”, click Install. You may have to wait 10-20 seconds for the image to install.
Step 4: Now you’ll want to press your back button and go back to the main page of PocketTool and this time you’ll want to tap/click on Tool Kit.
Next, you’ll want to click/tap on “Change Textures/Skin”
You should see the skin that you are currently using displayed. Next, you want to find the skin that you want to use and tap/click and hold it.
A pop up should pop up and ask you “What would you like to do?”, Click “Use Skin”
Step 5: After you clicked “Use Skin” you’ll need to save the changes. You does this by clicking the button in the top right hand corner and select “Apply Changes”. After you click apply changes just wait(20-30 seconds), it seems like a long time but just wait till the next pop up comes up.
After, your 30 second wait you’ll see the following. Now you’ll see it asking you to uninstall Minecraft – Pocket Edition, don’t worry it doesn’t delete any of your saved games/worlds. So click, OK.
After you uninstall it, it will want to re-install pocket edition. Click “Install”
After you click install, you should be prompted with two ways to install it. I always just pick the first option “Package Installer”
Now Minecraft Pocket Edition is reinstalled with your new skin. Now you can either click Done or Open. Open will launch Minecraft PE. Please note that if you had a shortcut of the Minecraft PE on your homescreen(s) you have to replace it. And that’s it, You’re Done!
